Welcome to the home
of the 2nd Company of Georgia Artillery!
We are a recreated unit of Rev War artillery that was the unit assigned
to Fort Morris at Sunbury Georgia. Our unit has been a recreated unit since 1995 and works in conjunction with the Friends
of Fort Morris to promote our Home site at the Fort along with the Georgia DNR.
As presently organized, our unit
has two seperate detatchments. We have a Northern detatchment based near Atlanta Georgia under the command of Captain Sam
Harrison and we have a Southern detachment under the command of Lt. Dave Swinford based at the Fort at Sunbury just south
of Savannah. Our combined force boasts 4 privately owned pieces of 18th century artillery as well as small arms and camp gear.
Presently we have more than 10 men at arms and a following of distaff numbering 4 or 5. Our unit strives to become as authentic
as possible given the research constraints of our original unit and we have over time become a highly successful unit working
many SE events.
